7 Seater Car Hire Seville Airport

Compare cheap 7 seater car hire at Seville Airport. Summer heat records, bus lane cameras, new access cameras in the centre and car park height limits.

Seville fines drivers in bus lanes by camera, and a single street near Plaza de Armas produces more than a fifth of those fines. Check the city section below before you trust the satnav into the centre.

Seville Airport handled a record 9,686,487 passengers in 2025, up 5.6% on the year before (Aena). Of those, 860,398 flew on UK routes, a rise of 13.3%. Growth carried on into 2026, with traffic up 9.6% in the first eight months (Aena).

The airport sits 10 km from the city, just off the A-4 motorway (Spain.info). That is a short hop, but with seven people and their cases, one hire car beats two taxis in each direction.

Seville heat and a parked car

Seville Airport’s weather station recorded 46.6°C on 23 July 1995 (AEMET). Even an ordinary July averages a daily high of 36°C (AEMET).

Spain’s traffic authority says never to leave people or animals in a parked car, not even for a few minutes. It also advises avoiding the roads between 1pm and 5pm in hot weather, and stopping every two hours or 200 km (DGT).

In a 7 seater, the back row can take longest to cool. Run it for a few minutes before the children climb in, and plan long drives for the morning.

Bus lanes and the new centre cameras

Cameras have watched bus lanes at 11 sites since 4 July 2025. The fine is about £221 (€260), halved if you pay early. Between January and March 2026 the cameras issued 63,805 fines, and Calle Arjona near Plaza de Armas accounted for more than 20% of them (Motor.es).

A new electric bus line, the TB1, began running on 28 September 2026 between Sevilla Este and Plaza del Duque. Number plate cameras will watch the TB1 route and nearby streets around Puñonrostro and Plaza del Duque. After a settling-in period of at least two months, expected to end after Christmas, unauthorised vehicles face fines of up to about £170 (€200) (Moncloa.com).

If your hotel or apartment is in the old town, ask the owner how to register your number plate before you drive in. Otherwise, park outside the centre and walk.

At the time of writing, Seville’s low emission zone is smaller than many visitors expect. It covers only La Cartuja, on weekdays from 7am to 7pm, and it only stops cars with no DGT environmental label (Ayuntamiento de Sevilla). Petrol cars from before 2000 and diesels from before 2006 are the ones caught, so a modern hire car will pass.

Parking and height limits

Street parking in Seville is split into colour zones. The blue zone allows stays of 35 to 120 minutes and the green zone 60 to 180 minutes (Ayuntamiento de Sevilla).

You pay on weekdays from 9am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm, plus Saturday mornings. Sundays and holidays are free, and so are afternoons in July and August. Parking is also free on Semana Santa afternoons, and charges are suspended in the Los Remedios area during Feria week.

Watch the height bars on underground car parks. The city’s parking guide lists clearances from 1.70 to 2.35 metres (Visit Sevilla), so a tall 7 seater with roof bars may not fit the lower ones.

The same guide lists park and ride at Blas Infante metro station, which is free and open 24 hours. There is no attendant, so leave nothing on show. San Juan Bajo station is a second option, 5 km out.

Day trips with the whole family

The Roman city of Itálica, at Santiponce, is only 9 km from Seville (Visit Sevilla). It is an easy morning out before the heat builds.

For Doñana National Park, take the A-49 towards Huelva and leave at Bollullos or La Palma for Almonte and El Rocío. El Acebuche visitor centre can only be reached by car, and La Rocina is a short walk from El Rocío (MITECO).

The white towns route through Cádiz province takes in 19 towns, with Arcos de la Frontera and Grazalema among them. Spain’s tourist board suggests spring and autumn for the drive (Spain.info).

Spanish road rules for visitors

Children under 1.35 metres must travel in an approved child seat on the back seat. GOV.UK also warns that using a phone at the wheel is illegal even when pulled over, and that on-the-spot fines are halved if paid within 20 days (GOV.UK).

The drink-drive limit is 0.5 g of alcohol per litre of blood, falling to 0.3 g for drivers in their first two years (DGT). If two of you will share the driving, the newer driver has the lower limit.

Since 1 January 2026, warning triangles have given way to the connected V-16 light, which sends a breakdown’s location to the DGT (DGT). Make sure there is one in the glovebox before you leave the car park.

From 1 October 2026, overtaking a cyclist outside towns means driving at least 20 km/h below the speed limit and leaving at least 1.5 metres. Inside towns, stay at least 5 metres behind a cyclist in your lane (DGT).

Seville is in the Schengen area, so the EU Entry/Exit System applies when you land. Check the current entry rules on GOV.UK before you fly.

Fitting seven people and their luggage

A large suitcase takes 80 to 110 litres (Markenkoffer). With all seven seats in use, the roomiest common 7 seaters offer about 340 to 350 litres of boot, and some offer far less (Auto Express).

Bar chart of 7 seater boot space with all seats in use: Peugeot 5008 348 litres, Skoda Kodiaq 340, Kia Sorento 179, previous Peugeot 5008 167, Volkswagen Touran 137, all short of the 560 to 770 litres seven large suitcases need
Boot figures: Auto Express, Carbuyer. Suitcase volumes: Markenkoffer.

For seven adults with a big case each, look for the ACRISS FV class, meaning seven or more seats with extra space, or step up to an 8 or 9 seater. Soft bags squeeze into gaps that hard cases cannot.

Collecting the car at Seville Airport

Aena lists the car hire desks on the ground floor of the terminal (Aena). If your firm is not on Aena’s list, check your voucher for where to meet them.

Paying less for a Seville 7 Seater

  • Compare the full price. Deposit, fuel policy, excess and extra driver fees all sit outside the daily rate.
  • Stay out of bus lanes. One camera fine of about £221 (€260) can cancel out a week of careful price hunting.
  • Bring your own child seats. Child seats usually cost extra for every day of the hire, and two seats over a fortnight add up fast.
  • Book early for spring. Semana Santa and the Feria fill the city, so lock in a cancellable rate and search again nearer the time.

Seville questions answered

How far is Seville Airport from the city?

About 10 km, just off the A-4 motorway.

Can I drive into Seville’s old town?

Cameras are coming in along the new TB1 bus route around Puñonrostro and Plaza del Duque, with fines of up to about £170 (€200) for unauthorised vehicles once the warning period ends. Ask your accommodation about plate registration, or park outside and walk.

Will the low emission zone affect my hire car?

Very unlikely. It covers only La Cartuja on weekdays and stops only cars without a DGT label, which means older petrol and diesel cars.

How hot does Seville get in summer?

July averages a daily high of 36°C, and the airport has recorded 46.6°C. Never leave children in a parked car.

Where can I compare cheap 7 Seater deals at Seville Airport?

Our search compares 7 seaters from several firms at once, from desks in the terminal and depots nearby, with the total price for each. Search early for spring and summer dates.
