When you search for a car

Our search sends your pickup location and dates to our booking partner, so it can return live prices. We do not ask for your name or email address to search.

When you contact us

If you use our contact form, we receive your name and email address along with your message. We use these only to reply to you.

When you visit the site

Like almost every website, our hosting server keeps standard logs, such as your IP address and the pages you visit. These are used to keep the site secure and working.

When you book a car

When you click through to book, you leave this site for our booking partner. Your booking and payment details go to the partner, not to us.

The link you click carries a tracking code, so the partner knows the booking came from us. The partner’s own privacy policy explains how it handles your data, and you should read it before you book.

We do not receive your payment or booking details from the partner.

Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies on this site. Our caching system may set a technical cookie so pages load quickly, and logged-in site editors get the standard WordPress login cookies.

Our booking partner may set its own cookies once you leave this site to book. If we add any analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Our legal basis

We reply to your messages and keep server logs on the basis of our legitimate interests. Those interests are answering questions and keeping the site secure.

Where we need your consent, such as for non-essential cookies, we will ask for it first. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share data with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with the services that keep this site running.

• Our hosting provider. It stores the website and its server logs.
• Our email provider. It delivers and stores messages sent through the contact form.
• Our booking partner. It receives your search details to return prices, and handles any booking you make.
• Authorities, where the law requires it. We will only share data if we are legally obliged to.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires for such transfers.

How long we keep data

Contact form messages are kept only as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than 12 months. Server logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• ask us to correct data that is wrong
• ask us to delete your data
• ask us to restrict or stop using your data
• object to us using your data on the basis of legitimate interests
• ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere

Children

This site is for adults planning car hire. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
