7 Seater Car Hire Las Vegas Airport

Compare cheap 7 seater car hire at Las Vegas Airport. How the national park surcharge hits UK families, the annual pass that covers your car, and Death Valley tips.

Planning the Grand Canyon or Zion? International visitors now pay a $100 surcharge per adult at those parks. Read the national parks section below. One pass can cover your whole car.

Harry Reid International Airport served nearly 55 million passengers in 2025, its third-busiest year on record (Harry Reid International Airport).

For UK families, Las Vegas is often the start of a national parks road trip rather than a city break. That is exactly where a 7 seater pays off, and where a new fee changes the maths.

The $100 national park surcharge

Since 1 January 2026, international visitors aged 16 and over pay a $100 surcharge, about £75, on top of the normal vehicle entry fee at 11 of the busiest US national parks. They include the Grand Canyon and Zion. The standard vehicle fee is usually $35, about £26 (ABC 17 News).

For a car with four adults, that is $435, about £327, for a single park visit.

One pass for the whole car

The America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass costs $250, about £188. It covers the surcharge for the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle (Visit Utah). Children aged 15 and under pay neither the surcharge nor the standard fee.

That makes the pass a clear saving for a 7 seater full of adults and teenagers. Even with only two adults, it pays for itself if you visit two of the surcharge parks.

Death Valley and the desert heat

Death Valley is a day trip from Las Vegas, and it is one of the hottest places on Earth in summer. The National Park Service advises visitors not to hike at low elevations after 10am, and to stay within a ten-minute walk of air conditioning (National Park Service).

If your car breaks down, stay with it. It gives shade and is easier for rescuers to spot. Many areas have no phone signal.

In a 7 seater, carry far more water than you think you need. A car full of children drinks it fast.

One search lines up the minivans and 7 seater SUVs at Harry Reid, with the total price for each.

Picking up at Harry Reid

The airport’s Rent-A-Car Center is about three miles south of the terminals. Courtesy shuttles run from Terminal 1, doors 10 and 11, and from both ends of Terminal 3 (Harry Reid International Airport).

Allow time for the shuttle when you plan your return, especially with a family and luggage.

Nevada rules

Nevada requires a child restraint for children under six and under 57 inches, about 145 cm. Children under two must ride rear-facing in a back seat (GHSA).

UK rules are stricter for older children, with a seat until 12 years or 135 cm (GOV.UK), and the safety reasons do not change abroad.

GOV.UK says a UK photocard licence is accepted in the US, but some hire firms also ask for an International Driving Permit (GOV.UK). Check before you fly, because you can only buy an IDP in the UK.

Seven people, seven cases

US minivans are bigger than European 7 seaters. The Toyota Sienna has about 949 litres behind the third row, nearly three times the boot of a typical European 7 seater with all seats up (CarGurus).

Bar chart of 7 seater boot space with all seats in use: Peugeot 5008 348 litres, Skoda Kodiaq 340, Kia Sorento 179, previous Peugeot 5008 167, Volkswagen Touran 137, all short of the 560 to 770 litres seven large suitcases need
Boot figures: Auto Express, Carbuyer. Suitcase volumes: Markenkoffer.

The chart shows European models for comparison. On a road trip with coolers and walking kit for seven, a minivan usually carries more than a large SUV.

Keeping a Vegas road trip affordable in a 7 Seater

  • Compare the total, not the daily rate. Extra liability cover, child seats, young driver fees and one-way charges all sit outside the headline price.
  • Buy the non-resident park pass. At $250, it covers the surcharge for everyone in the car.
  • Return the car to Las Vegas. One-way hires to other states can carry large drop-off fees.
  • Book early with free cancellation. School holidays and spring bring the highest demand. Lock in a cancellable rate, then search again nearer the date and rebook if prices fall.
